Parents of preschoolers can tap into Publix Web site

Atlanta, Georgia - 2002 - Publix has started a free Web site for preschoolers and their parents that provides meal-planning ideas, suggestions for family activities and coupons and goodies for kids, like a birthday CD-ROM for 3- and 4-year-olds. We liked the seasonal advice on crafts and safe trick-or-treating, but not a product placement plug in a Halloween party section. Considering that the pitch for the Web site promises to help parents with issues like childhood obesity, it seems out of place to recommend substituting Publix Bakery doughnuts for apples in a dry apple-bobbing game. www.publix.com/preschool
