Rare Medium Atlanta and Publix Launch Publix Preschool Pals Online

Atlanta, Georgia - 2002 - Rare Medium Atlanta, a leading digital services company, today announced the launch of a new rich, user-centric web site crafted for Publix Super Markets, Inc.. Publix Preschool Pals - an exciting program for preschoolers and parents - launches today. Membership is free and available through the Publix Preschool Pals Web site, www.publix.com/preschool, or through the Clubs section of the Publix Web site, www.publix.com.

"Parents today are faced with so many issues, from childhood obesity to child safety. We've developed a program that will provide relevant information to help deal effectively with the many aspects of parenting a preschooler. Children will learn about nutrition, personal safety, food safety, and food groups all disguised as pure entertainment," said Publix Spokesman Lee Brunson.

As members of the Publix Preschool Pals, parents will receive a quarterly newsletter with relevant and helpful information, access to an information-packed Web site, valuable coupons and informative e-mails.

Children will receive prizes and birthday cards. Children 2 years old will receive an educational activity book, and 3- and 4-year-olds will receive a one-of-a-kind CD-ROM featuring seven lively games hosted by Publix's "Preschool Pals" animated characters.

In 1996 Publix introduced the Publix Baby Club for new and first-time parents of children up to age 2. That program has been so successful that members have been asking the chain to consider offering a program for children beyond 2. With the launch of Publix Preschool Pals, Publix is the first supermarket to offer such a comprehensive program for preschool children. "For parents, nothing is more important than the health, well-being and development of their children. We hope Publix Preschool Pals will give parents some great tools to help their children realize their full potential while having fun," said Brunson.
